DIRECTIONS
TO “HIS PLACE” FROM PARKWAY WEST (I-279)
-
go
through Ft Pitt Tunnel (Get into left hand lane as you enter tunnel)
-
After
exiting tunnel, move over to far left lane and take
ramp toward the
North
Shore
(1-279 N)
-
Go
down the ramp that takes you off the Ft Pitt bridge and then immediately
go up
the ramp that takes you onto the Ft Duquesne Bridge (following signs
to I-279 N)
-
As
soon as you’ve come up onto the Ft Duquesne Bridge, move over to the far
right hand lane.
-
At
this point, you will be passing between Heinz Field (on your left) and
PNC
Park (on your right).
Stay in the
far right lane.

Shortly
after the road has curved around
PNC
Park,
take EXIT 7C for Rt
28-N (
Chestnut St/East Ohio St/Etna). (The exit will be on your
right)

Immediately
move to the far right lane and take the CHESTNUT ST EXIT.

At the
“T” intersection, turn left onto
Chestnut
St.
-
At the
first traffic light, go straight. (You will cross over
East Ohio St.)

At the
next traffic light, continue straight on Chestnut. (It is a brick road
with trolley tacks in it.)

At the
stop sign, go straight. You will pass a fire station on your right. At
this point
Chestnut St
becomes
ITIN STREET.
The road will continue up a steep hill.

Follow
Itin
Street all the way to the top of the hill.
(NOTE: This is a very narrow road and
cars have to take turns passing in
opposite directions.)

At the
top of the hill, you will see an ESB Bank building.
-
Turn
LEFT onto RHINE ST. Travel for about 2/10ths of a mile.

“His
Place” is located at the corner of Rhine and Woessner
St.
It will be on the left hand side as you travel up
Rhine St. It is a large 3-story pale
blue building.
